Attack of Mommie Dearest and the teeny tiny shirt!!

Well, we all knew it was coming, this is one of my crappy mommy moments. Hopefully this will get a laugh and not encourage my son to write a tell-all book about this stuff like Christina Crawford did.
So this issue happened on a "Thursday". My kids know that for some strange reason Thursdays are my worst days. I don't know why, have never figured it out, that is just the way it is.
So this particular Thursday was no different from any other. I was screaming at the kids, telling them the same things I have told them every weekday morning since school started....you know..."Eat you breakfast, brush your teeth, pack your bag, get dressed...hurry! hurry! hurry! multiply that by 3 kids and 10 times each..Ugh!!!
So I hear the boys fighting upstairs and I make one of my 10 trips up the stairs in the morning to see what the hassle is, and what I see is 2 boys (a 9 year old and a 6 year old) duking it out on the floor. I break out my referee whistle ( a must have for all moms with 2 or more boys), and get their attention." WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!!"  I yelled (in case you thought I had Caps on by accident). My youngest son is hysterical and says,"David took my shirt I was going to wear." I look to my older son, "What?"
David responds by saying " It's mine!"  So I calmly ask David to retrieve the shirt, he gives me the precious item that caused this ordeal.  As I open it up and look at it, I see that it is a size small. Now in all fairness, I must tell you that the boys had chosen the same shirt at the store in different sizes, against my advice.
So now David looks at the shirt and realizes that there is no way this teeny tiny shirt is going to fit him.
Now remember THURSDAY. So Mommie Dearest decides it's time to make an appearance....get ready for it. "David you will wear this shirt to school today."  David's face drops, "What? It doesn't even fit."
To which I reply. "David you will wear this shirt to school today, you wanted it so bad, and when the kids make fun of you, you can explain that you beat up your little brother today to wear this shirt."
David was devastated, He put on the shirt and all I could think of was " Wham" and some upbeat 80"s music playing in the background.  I explained to David that after spending the day in his teenie tiny shirt, he would never again beat up his brother without being fully sure the shirt was in fact his, and further more beating on anyone was going to incur a punishment so he would want to make sure it was worth it.

Yep this is how it went.
Now rest easy all, in the final seconds before leaving the house, I let him change, I only hope he still learnt the lesson.
I love my children dearly and I also love them enough to make sure they learn lessons in life to make them the best person they can be, sometimes Mommie Dearest makes an appearance whether I like her to, or not.      That evening we had a great discussion on how things could have been different for all of us. Kisses and Hugs for all. Not one of my "Shinning Moments" but definately a "Learning Momment" for us all.
