Snowed in Sunday!!!!

My Boy (David) making me proud.
So it is a beautiful snowy Sunday in the town of Almonte. Which invites me (the classic procrastinator), to find excuses not to leave my house. No I am not some kind of recluse/hermit.   I just love hanging out at home with the family. All week I spend so much time running kids around and working, that come the weekends being unscheduled is kind of a turn on. So this is the scene in my house right now: The boys are enjoying a friendly game of Mario Brothers on the Wii, well friendly may be the wrong word to use; They are screaming at each other and yelling that one or the other have killed them, and that one is fully dead, and to just press A and go in a bubble because they are slowing them down. Becca is playing with melting beads...for those of you lucky people out there that don't know what melting beads are, let me enlighten you. They are small (and by small I mean the size of a ladybug) plastic beads that you have to place on a plastic tray on little teeny tiny pegs to make a design. Once they are all placed in the chosen spots (after numerous times of knocking them off the delicate tray and having to fix it), Mommy has to iron them with parchment paper until they melt together to form a plastic item that can be made into a magnet, key chain etc, Becca needs to make 40 of these items at one sitting. My sweet kitten is in heat and is howling and rubbing anything she gets her HooHoo (*my term for lady bits*)  on. I have at least 4 loads of laundry going that need folding and putting away. My husband is stretched out with the boys engaging in "Mario Time", because all week I have hidden this game..as my family is truly addicted to it; and until I can find a support group, I am on my own. I have released the game from captivity for the Weekend, so he has been satiating himself in Marios and Luigis for the entire Weekend, So to bring us back to the very start....I will be showered and ready to leave in 15 minutes. lol.

Saturday Mornings

So up and early and heading for Hockey. Yes Hockey, the national sport of Canada (lol). What does this mean for all the parents out there in hockeyland? Early mornings, endless tournaments, financial foreclosure to any and all sport equipment shops, hotels, etc. Yes Hockey...Fun Fun Fun.  Now, truth be told, my first son didn't care for it (yes, I did a little victory dance), but Bobby (my middle child) loves it. So far we have just enjoyed the recreation league, so there is hope for us yet. I listen to all the parents who's entire lives are wrapped around  one child's hockey and think "Are you serious?" All this time and money for what? Do all these parents truly believe that their child is the next Gretzky? Now don't get me wrong, I am all for physical activities for Children, and I do love to watch hockey (especially my sweet little boy, who in my eyes could kick Mike Fisher's butt on the ice). But it's the parents that are screaming at the kids and not in a positive way that makes my blood boil. It makes me want to go to their work, and spend the day yelling at them the whole time and see if they like it. What they don't realize is they are embarrassing themselves, and their children. Relax and enjoy this time, because it is highly unlikely all these kids are heading to the NHL, so enjoy it for what it is, remember those Saturday morning practices, and the camaraderie between parents in the stands with their mittens and hats, gripping their Timmies coffees (some with a splash of Baileys). These are good times.

Introduction to My Blog

Well, Hello and welcome to my blog. I guess I will start off by introducing the 3 short people that live with me, of whom this Blog is named. My oldest son David (age 9), Bobby (age 6), and Becca (age 4). We are completed by my husband Peter (age ?? teehee). Anyway, I have some funny stories and hope to bring a smile to other Mother's faces, when dealing with crazy times in their families. My goal is to just give little snippets of my life and be able to look back at this blog one day as a record of my sweet family. Right now I am positive, as my boys have left for school and my daughter is still sleeping and I am on my second cup of coffee, just so you are not expecting this warm fuzzy, rainbows in the sky blog entry, everytime..lol. Knowing who I am I think you will come to appreciate the warm fuzzy entries....because they will be so scarce.
